Email me at gracermt@gmail.com

I am a Certified Vodder Therapist in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), Visceral Manipulation Therapist with the Barral Institute and Instructor.
As well I am a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) with the CMTBC and RMTBC.

I have been with Central Lonsdale
Massage Therapy Clinic since 1992, but as of
August 2006 I branched out to open
North Vancouver’s only Lymphedema clinic.

I graduated from UBC in Physiology then off to West Coast College of Massage Therapy.  I have been in practice since 1992.

I have been Board Member of the Massage Therapists Association.  As well I have taught various courses at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy.

I have taken many Continued education courses, but found great passion in Manual Lymph Drainage.  I am a Certified Vodder Therapist and have built a very full practice looking after Lymphedema patients from all over the lower mainland.

Educating the Lower Mainland on Lymphedema has been a goal of mine and in the process I have become the President of North American Association. NAVALT. As well I am the Chair for the Advanced Practice Group for Lymphatic Health with the RMTBC.  I am here to help patients and Health Practitioners understand this condition better and give relief to their condition.

While looking for other fields of study to help my patients, I found great love in Visceral Manipulation with the Barral Institute.   With this work I have moved forward in the teacher training program assisting in classes and leading study groups.  I feel very blessed with all of the education and experience I have gone through.

I am now a Teacher with the Barral Institute for VM Intro.

Classes for BC have CEC credit approval for this 2 day/ 12 hour program.

Coverage for Massage Therapy, Extended Health Care Plans or Income Tax
As of January 1, 2002, the Liberal Government reduced its assistance for Massage Therapy, Chiropractics, Physiotherapy and others.
Only Premium Assistance patients receive help on 10 combined visits per calendar year.
You can check with MSP if you qualify for Premium assistance.
Check with your extended benefits and find out how much is covered for you in Massage Therapy. It is sometimes a percentage of the treatment cost or a fixed ceiling that once passed offers no more coverage.
If you do not have extended health benefits or you have reached your limit for benefits, look to the medical section of your Income tax. If you add up your Massage Therapy, Prescriptions, Eye glasses, Orthotics, Dental and/or Chiropractics, you may have enough to help lower your taxable earnings. Consult your accountant regarding this.
